Surround yourself with the right people

Surround yourself with the right people…

Nearly everyone follows the same path: birth, school, work, retire, die. For those of us on a different path, though, it can be challenging to gauge how we are really doing.

The key is surrounding yourself with the right people – people who "get it", people who don't strive for bigger job titles and cars. These people will lift you up and turn the challenge from frustration into one of adventure.

pick yourself

Are you too old?

Are you too old?…

You're never too old/young/fat/female/unqualified to do anything.

Pick yourself!

Never! It’s never too late. No matter how old you are or how many opportunities you’ve passed up before, it’s never too late to make a decision. And, that decision can simply be to try something new for the first time.

travel the world

You can travel the world without being a millionaire

You can travel the world without being a millionaire…

You just need to be a little more flexible than the average "tourist".

The ability to think on your feet and adjust your trajectory on the fly is an important skill for travel, and life.

Expect many course corrections. Don’t be surprised when obstacles get in your way. Life is messy and the best-laid plans have a habit of fraying at the edges, or falling apart completely.

That shouldn’t matter though – you’re committed to this, right? You’ll find another way to get there. The specific plan you choose isn’t important… the destination is everything.

Made it or making it?

Made it or making it?…

Do you define success as when you have “made it” or the opportunity to continue “making it”?

The difference is kind of important. If you only consider yourself successful when you "made it" it could be a long and never-ending journey. "Making it" however isn't the destination but the journey itself.

As Tony Robbins says, "happily achieving" rather than "happy when I achieve".
